Just like a childhood fever, we reached a wacky maximum and then the fever broke. Afternoon thunderstorms and showers brought some much needed relief to everyone and even then scorched grass, I'm sure!
First light at Hope Meadow Farm:
Meanwhile...First light at home:
We travelled to Bridgewater just before lunch and even though the kids slept through most of the drive, it was a beautiful trip down to the Snader's Camp house that we hope to visit during our time here. P-J had to see if he could find it even though he's never been there without the snow on the ground.
On our way back, we stopped at some of the local stores for a look around - each time leaving P-J in the car with the sleeping babes. So I guess we will definitely need to take another trip soon so that he can see what I saw...
Our final stop was to Quechee Gorge - not for the faint hearted when you're standing on the bridge looking down. Did I really say I'd do bridge jumping one day?!
This brings to a close our first week in Vermont and what an adjustment it has been. Some things smoother than others - like the kids getting to know one another and playing together, P-J getting familiar with the outdoor grill and Ashleigh doing laundry regularly. Other things are taking some time to get used to - like the flavour of the milk, Skyping family over a big time difference and...Ashleigh doing laundry more regularly!
