Watching Jorja grow...Where does the time go?

Our precious Jorja Sarah is growing up very quickly. I have always appreciated the camera feature on my cell phone and I guess I didn't really understand the full extent of it until now! What a treasure to capture these memories as she develops right in front of our eyes! From nil-per-mouth one week, to singing grace at meal times! "Mirror mirror on the floor... Who's this maiden standing tall?" I even sent this snap with Bokomo! Jorja's Great Grandpa "Sakkie" is so chuffed to hear that they share a common breakfast choice! Jorja takes her doll's mealtimes very seriously...and one day I even watched her sharing her real dinner with the doll in the high chair across from her. We are so despondent when children pick up bad habits, let's rejoice when they practise the good ones! She looks at me as if to say, "What you looking at, Mom? This is me growing up!"

Photo Finish!

Trying out blog-by-Blackberry... ..and what a better moment than the finish of the largest individually timed cycle tour event! Chilly air and bouts of mist is not putting a dampen on this day. Well done to all participants! The Events Office Team on the day

Live from Pick n Pay Lifecycle Expo 2011

Here we are, one month later and my entry is being composed live from the Expo in Cape Town! Right now, the crowds are coming in waves... But when our doors first opened, it was high tide! These Sketchers shoes - gift from husband, bless his soul! - were NOT made for Expo day! I'll have to save them for a Sunday... So far so good, it seems. Our 70-strong team of volunteers have just fallen right into duty and can co-ordinate their race pack distribution as well as their tea breaks... I'm impressed! I'm based at the International section - an interesting group of people! The number of South African's trying to jimmy themselves into this race by hook and by crook ...The foreigners trying to fool us into believing that they "no speak de Ing-leesh " when we tell them that they can't use another person's timing chip... What an experience this is! Will send a real update, with pics of what feels like weeks-gone-by soon!
