Moving Forward

We've reached the end of January in no time - our New Year holiday weekend away is a distant memory, school's in session and only those that live near the beach, still have sand between their toes! What have we done with this month? Once the goal setting and budgeting is in place, are we acting on our intentions? I commented at Andel's birthday this past week, that based on his date of birth, he's fortunate to receive a gift each year, compliments of your Christmas 'box'! By May, we've fallen hopelessly behind on gifts, social gathering scheduling and letter writing projects and by September we can't even remember what we'd hoped to achieve! Year of the rabbit? Nevermind that, let it be the year that this situation changed! Don't let another day pass without making the change (that you want to see) - Schedule that appointment to see to that neglected something (or someone), buy a special gift in advance and keep it safe until the time comes to pr

Lekker by die see...

For the last couple of years, my folks have ventured down to Fish Hoek for a few days of caravan-camping at the start of the new year. This year was no different! However, over the years the arrangements have changed considerably and with just a awning up, we can't all visit for longer than the day because we can't all fit into the tent! We arrived in time for brunch, arranged by Andel and Robyn. They prepared bacon and eggs, flap jacks, Mimosas, panfried bread, beans and more! It was finger-licking good, I say. After our meal we lay (because we couldn't sit up very straight) around, under the gazebo playing Trivial Pursuit. Pops remains king of the cricket trivia although Andel does contend for the sport spot in general. Bonny will sing an item from any musical mentioned and Adair gave us a run for our money on the miscellaneous! Once we'd recovered we ventured down to the beach. Natasha wasted no time in diving into the waves and Andel followed close behind her. Rob

The year 2011

I can still remember the hype around the turning of the milennium and I wonder how the years have flown by so quickly! Suffice to say that our Festive Season was a relatively quiet experience for us, this year. And there were no complaints about it! We celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary together, for starters! With P-J's hectic December schedule, that was a treat in itself! We also bid farewell to our visiting du Plessis family who returned to a snowy and cold Vermont just before Christmas eve. On Christmas Day our families made a collaborate effort for lunch and we enjoyed tasty dishes prepared by the attendees! Now if ever I saw a good idea for mass meals with partial prepping! For afternoon tea we visited with the rest of our Geduld family and after a day of celebrating, we were tucked into bed by 22h00. ( Strategic, of course, so that we will survive the rest of the season and the activities that it brings! ) I was fortunate to spend a week at home, with Jorja. Unfortunatel
