Back to school...back to (another) reality

On Thursday, Ashleigh went back to an office job! It really has been a fantastic past few couple of months - travelling and spending our days spontaneously! Although we will miss the flexibility, we are looking forward to this new routine and no doubt that Jorja will enjoy attending daycare regularly. Of course, Jorja had one of her best sleeps from Wednesday night into Thursday and we had to wake her up to get done for school... And let us not forget the dark, grey, wet weather that greeted us at the door! I spent the day reminiscing about the fun in the sun we'd had just the day before at Fish Hoek beach! We took a trip with Andel, Robyn and Michelle (on holiday from South Korea) to The Chocolate Moose in Kommetjie and then we enjoyed snacks at Fish Hoek beach - complete with Shark sighting warning and all! Jorja checking out the delicacies We arrived at 15h45 and just 45min earlier, a shark had been spotted!

Hopes and Dreams

We've just come out the other side of a hectic last couple of months, rehearsing for a re-run of the dance, drama and singing production, Hopes and Dreams , at the Arscape Theatre. The show took place last weekend, 14th and 15th August and it was truly an exhilirating experience to be a part of! Yours truly even managed to score a dance piece complete with ballet bun and pointed toes! Last weekend, particularly, Jorja spent most of the time in the care of Great Aunts and Grandmothers. What a blessing! She had a blast, too! Poor girl couldn't believe her good fortune when she was offered a whole chocolate muffin to enjoy on her own... But on Monday it was back to business as usual. PJ has been busy serving guests at the house - visitors to this year's Cape Town Fashion Week - and Jorja has enjoyed her days at daycare. I managed to capture a few pics of her in action this week: Start off with a wild warm up on the rocking horse... Then go through a few simple First Words Che

Women's Day Weekend at Coaton Cottage

We had a lovely time at Coaton Cottage in Wellington this past weekend! These are just a few of the photos that I've picked out. Annie and Jorja had great fun going on 'trailer-rides'! If you wanted cellphone signal, you had to head to 'Signal Rock'. Aunty Robyn worked very hard, servicing young and old at her salon. We spent lots of time relaxing by the fire, reading and chatting. The calm before the storm... Meal times was always a bustling occasion! Jorja was on hand to give advice to her Dad's dominoe game... The boys enjoyed games of B-U-K and soccer in the sunshine! Thankful Thursday

It's great to be accessing the internet on a Thursday...it's been a long while since we did one of these! Hard to believe that it's been 2 months since we arrived from Buenos Aires already! Jorja is 14 months old today and over the last 8+ weeks we've unpacked, moved into our new home, caught a few colds, experienced all 4 weather patterns and either loved them or hated them, met some new friends, brought home a couple of party boxes from 1st birthdays and loads more! This coming weekend we celebrate Bonny's 50th birthday, Gramps George's 80th birthday, Pops' birthday and Woman's Day. We are also heading up Bainskloof in Wellington to enjoy a few days of roughing it at Coaton Cottage. We're packing as lightly as possible, to make space for enough fire wood! Next week's activities is for a whole other blog! Will post some weekend pics when we return as well. Today I am (especially) thankful for: 1. Birthdays - new births, 1st birthday milestones a
