Moving Forward

We've reached the end of January in no time - our New Year holiday weekend away is a distant memory, school's in session and only those that live near the beach, still have sand between their toes!

What have we done with this month? Once the goal setting and budgeting is in place, are we acting on our intentions?

I commented at Andel's birthday this past week, that based on his date of birth, he's fortunate to receive a gift each year, compliments of your Christmas 'box'! By May, we've fallen hopelessly behind on gifts, social gathering scheduling and letter writing projects and by September we can't even remember what we'd hoped to achieve!

Year of the rabbit? Nevermind that, let it be the year that this situation changed!

Don't let another day pass without making the change (that you want to see) - Schedule that appointment to see to that neglected something (or someone), buy a special gift in advance and keep it safe until the time comes to present it, write a catch up letter to a friend abroad... The feeling is profound!

Remember that feeling you felt on 1 January 2011? Don't let is slip through your fingers - we can't freeze the picture. Thanks, Bjorn and Benny.

"Life as we see it", right? My time so far at the cycle tour office is reminding me of just how demanding life in this age can be - a time seeking instant solution and gratification: We want it now! Happy 4th birthday, Jorja

Week 22

In no apparent order, some of the highlights of the last week have been: Carolling around a log fire with a Yankee Swap, cookies, coffee and new friends Last Friday evening we set off for somewhere near Norwich for our Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) Christmas party. As visitors to the church, there's already an element of insecurity...now to be heading into someone's home, as Dear Husband would say, "socially awkward levels were at an all time high" - Was the gifts we brought to swap suitable? What was a Yankee Swap anyways? Could you bring something besides sugar cookies to share? Do you have to take off your shoes at the front door? Are you allowed to park people in when the alternative is further up an un-lit, ice covered hill? There were so many unknowns! But once I saw the wood burning in the fireplace I relaxed a lot .
