As the day dawned, I first realised that for 7am, it was still rather dark... Then, I realised that Ethan had made it through the night without a nappy! While I was celebrating another milestone, he was not bothered in the least.
The forecast for today was rain and we prepared for the worst. In the end, it was hardly a sprinkling on our side of the road and P-J even managed to get some lawn mowing in while waiting for his pork to slow roast. I baked another blueberry coffee cake to kill some time (and to check if the recipe still worked)... besides, it had been a while since we had a pudding.
The wet-ish weather meant that we were running to and from the tumble dryer every cycle instead of just hanging the stuff on the line outside and leaving the sun to do its thing. Aah, first world problems! For some reason, today also resurrected some plumbing trouble, reminding me of our first days in the Apartment. It doesn't matter how cool you think you are, mopping up a mixture of toilet, bath and kitchen sink water will literally bring you to your knees. And I guess, whatever moisture we were 'missing' outside, we made up for inside!
At last we're getting good at packing a lunch when we go for drives. It sure beats the bulge of the drive through! So when we drove down to West Lebanon to do a few errands, we could enjoy lunch-on-the-run at no extra cost. Oh well, better late than never!
