Day 35

For the first time since we started documenting this trip, we almost forgot the day's blog entry! We were so caught up in the good weather, and the walk to the nature reserve, and our dessert treat that we almost got carried away into the weekend without the entry!

So it'll be quick - because it's already late in Buenos Aires hours, which makes it even later back home...

Another dry, sunny day in Buenos Aires left us feeling hopeful for an outing after lunch. Jorja and I head out passed the park, towards the nature reserve that we'd visited before and walked along the 'promenade.' P-J met us there and after taking in some fresh air, we walked home together.

Jorja is really enjoying all of this time with her Dad! Of course, one would think that after a whole day with Mom, any new face is a treat...but I'm pretty sure that she's particularly happy to have her Dad's attention! The two of them talk and laugh and blow bubbles...Jorja always scores a 'carry' when she looks at her Dad the right way (from the confinement of her pram) and at night I have to wait until they're done making a noise before I can settle her down to sleep!

Watching P-J with Jorja makes my heart very glad and I am assured that this time together is a invaluable investment into their Daddy-Daughter relationship.

"Life as we see it", right? My time so far at the cycle tour office is reminding me of just how demanding life in this age can be - a time seeking instant solution and gratification: We want it now! Happy 4th birthday, Jorja

Week 22

In no apparent order, some of the highlights of the last week have been: Carolling around a log fire with a Yankee Swap, cookies, coffee and new friends Last Friday evening we set off for somewhere near Norwich for our Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) Christmas party. As visitors to the church, there's already an element of insecurity...now to be heading into someone's home, as Dear Husband would say, "socially awkward levels were at an all time high" - Was the gifts we brought to swap suitable? What was a Yankee Swap anyways? Could you bring something besides sugar cookies to share? Do you have to take off your shoes at the front door? Are you allowed to park people in when the alternative is further up an un-lit, ice covered hill? There were so many unknowns! But once I saw the wood burning in the fireplace I relaxed a lot .
