Happy Easter, everyone! We hope that this weekend has been a meaningful time, spent remembering the true reason for celebration! I was encouraged by some Facebook status updates during the course of the weekend. The best one that I found was:
"My neighbour's diging crazily in da ground, hope his not lookin for Jesus coz He has risen.. hapy easta :-)"
We decided against the 6 hour trek to International, English-speaking UCC and instead we visited the San Telmo churches closer to home. At this parish we arrived just as they were taking up the collection!
While we thought that the weekend would be quieter with fewer people, the markets were more bustling than ever. Vendors selling chocolate pops were a hit among the Easter-holiday tourists. This stall offered a variety of sweet treats.
We enjoyed freshly baked Facturas with Mate (P-J) and a late roast lunch and celebrating this Resurrection Sunday in a foreign land was memorable.
We did miss our Son-rise Service at St James beach, but we found this picture, taken last year, to savour the moment.
