Jorja woke up in time for church in Cape Town, this morning. After 3 hours of playtime, and just when the sun was starting to rise this side, she went back to sleep! By 10h30 we were out the door, heading for Puerto Madero - the suburb where Charles lives.
The walk takes about 20 minutes, across many main roads and then a stretch alongside a canal. The weather was just perfect for a Sunday stroll and by the time we arrived there, Jorja was fast asleep. From there were travelled to Palermo, another neighbouring suburb, where P-J was going to do some grocery shopping at the local shopping centre. The shop was quite busy and choosing from the available formula and other baby products proved tricky, but of course, it was good to get out and discover more of the city...and Jorja loved being around more people!
With less wind than yesterday, we were tempted to visit the Sunday Markets - there are many around, near our apartment - but we felt that maybe we'd had enough action for the day. I've got to Google Translate some of the instructions on the items that we purchased, and P-J is preparing for his first day back at work since our arrival.
The language barrier for us is very obvious. We'll have to make a concerted effort to learn some key phrases and listen more carefully - as some of the Spanish words are similar to the English equivalent - which will make it easier to understand.
Some interesting local information: Did you know that Argentina's president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, lives in "The Pink House?"

Great to keep up with your news this way. The pictures are beautiful, although I must confess that even though I know it's real, it reads a bit like a story.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Jorja on her feet, and keeping you on your toes.
Love.
