As you may have noticed, I'm making a desperate effort to repair my blog-putation, following gross neglect over what we affectionately call:
Cycle Tour silly season!
While the big week of events has come and gone, we are still waiting for the dust to settle...before we kick it all up again I guess! In early February, my colleague walked past my desk and said in jest, "We can be friends again...after this!" However, it was only half said in jest! During our peak time, there's very little time for much else than the job. There's no sweet way to put it.
So instead of inserting my report of the events here, let me rather document some of the special-at-or-outside-of-work occurrences:

Valentine's Day
|
Like when the girl who's 'not dating' that guy, got arms full of roses and candies while the oud-getroude vrou just got a smile!
|
Valuable advice |
Or when I came across a good reminder of how to approach the awesome task of parenting...
Then there was the day I could 'bring my kids to work' at let them enjoy one of our events -
|
Ethan was happy to be my tail, on and off the course! |
|
Refreshment break after the 1.7km ride |
|
Jorja rediscovered her passion for pedaling! |
And the other time when I really couldn't find a babysitter and had to bring them to a less exciting work setup on a Saturday. Turns out, kids still enjoy calling their siblings across the room - something that Rob and I loved to do at Bonny's work!
There was the time I discovered that Ethan had worked out how to get to the right height at the bathroom basin. He's since discovered that it's also useful for opening out of reach cupboards, doors and counter tops!
We always enjoy going to visit Zac on a free Saturday and the boys enjoy lots of play and mischief!
Nevermind that the Micasa concert was rained out, Jorja offered us an open air performance in the comfort of our own lawn...
And one more occasion of 'bring A kid to work' day although this was only so that I could take him to the Dr for a check up!!
This past weekend was our first event-free time and we celebrated by visiting the Cape Town Carnival in Green Point. Papu and Yaya took us down, we met up with familiar faces and enjoyed watching the floats pass us by. Of course, Annie was the 2nd last group to parade down the street, and by that time we had been standing for 4 hours straight! But it was a colourful display of a lot of what Cape Town has to offer the locals and visitors - so we enjoyed being a part of that.

Ask Papu how much fruit sucker he found in his hair! |

Mamma Afrika |
|
Colourful gymnastics |

A beautiful protea |

Just for sleeping Ethan |
...And those are some of my favourite pre, post and during event time memories that I'd like to share with you.
I sometimes have to remember that this blog is about sharing 'life as we see it'...and well sometimes, it's just a blur!
a new read every day! thank you!
