In these extremely hot weather conditions, I find myself hogging the aircon control in the office. By the end of the day, I know that I'll have a stuffy nose and sinus headache for my efforts! So sitting here today feeling almost flu-ish but not daring to go outside until this evening, I am feeling quite sorry for myself...
...Add to that some general tiredness, tight-fitting clothes, stiff joints, swollen toes (have made a comeback) and the busiest time of the Cycle Tour year and I am just a bag full of smiles!
And yet, when I look at this picture (above) - taken in our garden - I am just amazed at how the simple things can change your perspective and give you renewed hope!
Jorja went back to school for real this week. (Last week, I assumed that she would start on Wednesday with the rest of Cape Town...but I'd obviously missed the school news brief. Learner Mommy). This year, there are only 4 other full time play buddies and 1 baby to 'supervise'!

Day 1 seemed quite reserved - quiet breakfast, play time... even reading time! I can't imagine what the conversation topics were like between these 3 ladies!
You'll notice on the pictures that in just 2 days, Jorja is wearing 3 different outfits... We just can't keep up with the wardrobe changes these days.
We have our hands full at the moment as Miss Jorja tries her tricks and shows her stubborn streak. Oh is it quite exhausting to try and work
out how to react in these situations!
Having said that, this picture of her enjoying a book and the fun of dressing up in big shoes (Ma-se-kind, they'd say) helps me to remember that she's a young one, exploring every day - yes - pushing at the boundaries and yelling as loud as she can!
I am reminded of the miracle that she is - her tall physique and wispy hair, her big mouth and bright smile and I am so grateful that we have her in our lives.
