So it seems that we're in for a couple more 'indoor days' here in Buenos Aires... It rained throughout the night and stopped for the first time after 15h00. P-J ventured out as far as the canal and then caught a cab the rest of the way to work. Coming home, he managed to make it in the gap! Jorja and I waited for Racilla to arrive, but the rain must've kept her away today. I don't know if we should expect her this week still. I guess we'll just be pleasantly surprised when she turns up at the front door! Although, expecting her to come did help us be dressed and ready for 'visitors' a little earlier than normal, so with all the time (to ourselves) we did some reading, we chat on Skype to family in Cape Town, we played with the toys - and made some new ones out of everyday things, we napped and we ate! We woke up to a dark and wet Tuesday morning, today. The season is very obviously shifting. It didn't seem cold(er), just very wet! Jorja sat at the window before breakfast, all forlorn, watching the rain come down - and did it pour? Of course, we were a bit sad to be cooped up in the apartment for the whole day... But, what better surprise on a rainy, grey day than a postage parcel at the door? A very special parcel was delivered to us today - books for Jorja from the Wilcox family in London! She had tons of fun unpacking it, and we've had fun reading about " Where's the Button? ", " Are you my Mommy?" and an aptly named storybook , "What's In The Parcel, Postman Pat?" Thank you very much! Is this for me? Oh wow! Look at this... Let's read this one first! PJ made it home later in the day during the only time when the rain stopped and we've enjoyed an evening together - reading and playing. Being confined to the apartment today, Jo...

Today was a very quiet day in Paseo Colon Ave, as Jorja slept most of the morning away! When she eventually woke up, it was 14h00 and I was hungry! She seemed fine, though. Perhaps all the sleep was to aid a growth spurt...She does look bigger now! She was obviously well rested after that nap, laughing and smiling while I prepared her lunch, and eagerly eye-ing the banana to enjoy afterwards. I was so impressed watching her navigate the ring around her bowl, into her hand, finding her mouth and then the satisfaction of enjoying the slice. See diagram below: Don't worry! We'll venture out tomorrow, DV...But it was a great way to ease into the week...

I forgot to mention in yesterday's entry that PJ was stuck in 6 lanes of oncoming traffic yesterday afternoon on our way to the store, when he mis-read the road traffic! He says that the drivers here treat the traffic signals like road decorations! I only remembered (that I'd forgotten) when it happened today - just on a smaller level. You'd think he does it for the thrill? It's actually quite scary to watch...and both times my camera was in the bag on his back! We visited the Spanish-language church close to our home, again, this morning. The service is quite well attended with tourists floating through the side chapels and history corner and on top of that, we think that it was a child-dedication of sort because a couple of children were lined up in the front at one point. They also sang a song to the tune of " This Little Light Of Mine " which we thought was pretty amusing. Speaking of amusing, Jorja giggled throughout the service, making conversation with ...

A slow Saturday was celebrated all over the world, with friends exchanging news of lazy breakfasts and pajama days! Jorja demonstrated her Porridge Art... We continued in slow-motion for the rest of the morning, enjoying having P-J home for the day. After lunch on the balcony (for the first time) we set off to walk to the end of the Dam. The sun was out again in full force today - such a treat after a rather grey week past. We arrived at the end of the docks just as the bridge was swinging to let some yachts out. It's quite something to watch and we would've loved to have captured it, but my phone died just as I prepared to snap away. We'll re-charge the battery and hope to show it to you soon. Back home again after a couple of hours' walk and we've enjoyed a relaxing day. There seems to be a party in the (Main) road - music and shouting. Perhaps we'll see the 'left-overs' on our way to church tomorrow?

This morning, after feeding Jorja her breakfast, I settled down to have a bowl of cereal myself. As I opened my eyes after saying Grace , I noticed a bright pink spoon led by Jorja's hand, heading straight for my bowl...She was going to help herself to my breakfast right before my (closed) eyes! It was a quiet morning, as Jorja had a long nap before lunch. Afterwards, at the hint of sunshine, we packed a bag and head outside. The sunshine was such a treat! Since it was already later in the day, we left our block just as the Secondary School on the corner was being dismissed. Jorja thought she was in 7th Heaven with all of these people heading straight towards her! We walked passed the Catholic University block and towards the park. What a pleasant surprise to receive a call from P-J just before 17h00 to say that he was heading home already! Jorja was very happy to see her Dad! Tonight while finishing up supper, Jorja showed us her new play place - her toy box! She carefully unpack...

Supper took considerably longer this evening, because Jorja was left to her own devices with her dinner bowl! To be honest, not a lot of pre-planning went into this - We just cooked up what she would've eaten anyway, but cut it up differently. She sat on a chair with a pillow to elevate her to the right height and she just roughed it with her hands. Sorry! For all of those who know how 'wrong' I did it... We had a quiet day: Jorja had a long morning nap after breakfast and we set out after 14hoo. Her shoes lasted all of 10 minutes into the walk, but that's progress! P-J will be working later over the next couple of days, so we enjoyed our 'canal walk' to meet him this afternoon and we'll head off in a different direction tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will keep up - the cooler but still sunny weather is a pleasure! Reading up on others' blogs, I've noticed a couple of 'special days' - like Meatless Mondays , Weigh in Wednesdays and Thankful...
